About this site
I never really thought about my future until recently, as I don't know if I really expected to be in my 50s. I did some things correctly-I got married to a wonderful woman (after a first marriage to a not wonderful woman), we had children together, I supported her fully for 16 1/2 years and we were to spend our lives together.
I spent 20 years in the military, which I have internal conflicts about, but that and cybersecurity work provided the life that my wife and I desired. We bought a house in Southern California. We made enough money we could be bougie and go to conventions, concerts, most anything we wanted to. We refinanced the house to pay off all debts and do some upgrades to the house that we planned to live in until one of us was no longer living (not gonna lie, it was probably me-I am 10 1/2 years her senior).
But, in the end, she changed. She is no longer the woman I married. To be fair, I've changed as well, but my changes were designed and intended to bring us closer together, whereas her changes led her away from me. The decision was made somewhat recently, and we have told the children and everyone involved. We have filed for divorce (jointly) and have essentially divided up belongings.
And now, I find out what is next in my life. This is my journey. The story is real, but the names have been changed, including my own, as I publish this.
